Calcium propionate (Ca (C2H5COO) 2 ), is formulated by neutralizing propionic acid with calcium hydroxide. It is used as a preservative in bread and other baked goods. It is an anti-microbial agent commonly used in bread. It is effective in preventing mould growth and helps extend the shelf life of edible items.
